With more than 100,000 images contributed from over 150 countries, I’m thrilled to announce that I am one of the top 100 finalists for the EyeEm Awards 2014.
The images were selected from a specialist panel of influential photographers, media specialists and artists including Anna Dickson (Photography Director at The Huffington Post), Olivier Laurent (Editor of TIME Magazine’s LightBoxand), and one of my favourite photographers: Rankin.
Selected as part of ‘The Storyteller’ category, I am incredibly humbled to have had the photo nominated for the award.
Here is the caption that accompanied the image –
‘Whilst visiting Cambodia this fearless young girl paddled over to me and asked if I would like to hold her snake for $1. I declined and instead asked for a photo of her holding the snake for $1. Exploitation is always a fierce debate, but who was being exploited here, her or me?’
